In the summer of 1869, a daring new enterprise began operations in Northern New Hampshire.
Today, 155 years later, the Mount Washington Cog Railway has fascinated millions of visitors from across the globe with its dramatic ascent to the highest mountain peak in the northeastern United States.
You and a guest are cordially invited to join us, with our compliments, on September 14, 2024 from 2:30–7:30 as we celebrate the extraordinary spirit of innovation behind one of the world’s great rail adventures!
The day-long event will feature: steam train rides up to Waumbek Station (4000’), tours of our new 35,000sf maintenance shop, guest speakers, cash bars, buffet dinner catered by Chef Joe’s of Franconia NH, and to close out the day’s activities, FIREWORKS!
President Wayne Presby will be on-hand to address the railway’s past, present and exciting future initiatives!
Steam train rides to Waumbek run continuously from 2:30–5:00, buffet dinner starts at 5:30, with fireworks at 7:30
